Welcome to "Country Epicure" - our thoughts on restaurants and hotels we like, and some we don't like, and why.
Most of them will be in the south of France where we live, or in New York City, where we used to live and now spend quality dining time; but there will also be some that we find on our travels to various parts of the world.

and appears on every page.
From time to time, we will describe scenic drives we take
from Nice into the mountains, or to Italy, or sometimes just to a
restaurant close to home. Usually there will be a lunch en route, but
often, that may not be the purpose of the trip and, therefore,
the restaurant could be unpretentious and simple. These drives
are listed in geographically and contain no restaurant name in the title.
